A flutter sleeve hangs loose from the shoulder seam. It covers the top of your arm without holding it, so when you walk it moves, and when you stop it settles back.
We make six flutter sleeve gowns, each cut and hand-sewn in Shany's studio in Israel. Order a standard size, or choose Custom Made and the gown is drafted from your own measurements.

What is a flutter sleeve?
A flutter sleeve is a short, unfitted sleeve that falls away from the arm in soft folds. There's no elastic or cuff at the hem, and nothing is sewn close to the skin, which is why any breeze catches it. On a wedding dress you get some coverage over the shoulder while your arms stay free to hug people, dance and hold a bouquet.

Choose your flutter sleeve gown
All six come in ivory / soft white, in lace, with an open or V back. The biggest difference is the sleeve: the first four are short and airy, while Mira and Pearl run longer and flare toward a bell.

How a made-to-measure flutter sleeve gown gets to you

Pick your gown and size
Take a standard size, or choose Custom Made and send your bust, waist, hips, height and hollow-to-hem. The measurement guide walks you through it.

Shany checks your numbers
She reads every set of measurements herself before cutting, and writes back if two of them don't agree. This is also when to ask for a longer sleeve or a shallower neckline.

Sewn in 5-6 weeks
Your gown is cut and hand-sewn in the studio in Hod HaSharon, just outside Tel Aviv.

At your door in 3-7 business days
DHL or UPS Express, tracked and insured. US orders ship Delivered Duty Paid, so there's nothing extra to pay on arrival.
Order at least 10 weeks before your wedding. That leaves room for delivery and for a small local adjustment if you want one. More detail on how made-to-measure works.

Shany is a third-generation tailor. She opened the Lace & Love studio in 2011, and she still answers every bride's message herself.

Flutter sleeve questions
Can I raise my arms and dance in flutter sleeves?
Yes. The sleeve hangs loose from the shoulder seam and never closes around the arm, so there's nothing to pull when you lift your arms.
Can I change the sleeve length or shape?
Usually. Sleeve length and shape, neckline depth and back coverage can all be adjusted before the fabric is cut. Tell Shany what you want before you order and she'll confirm what holds its shape on that gown.
Do you make flutter sleeve wedding dresses in plus sizes?
Yes. Choose Custom Made and the gown is drafted from your measurements, whatever your size or height. See our plus size boho wedding dresses page for more.
How long does it take to get my dress?
Production takes 5-6 weeks, then 3-7 business days by DHL or UPS Express. Order at least 10 weeks before the wedding.
Will I pay customs or duties in the US?
No. US orders ship Delivered Duty Paid, with duties and taxes prepaid at checkout. Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories carry an extra $150 shipping fee, so contact us first if you're there.
Can I return a flutter sleeve dress?
Eligible standard-size orders can be returned if you contact us within 7 days of delivery. Custom Made gowns are final sale once production starts. The full returns policy has the details, and the main FAQ covers everything else.
