Season, Venue and Frame
Season. Consider the weather and the actual sleeve’s fabric, lining and fit. Sheer lace should not be treated as verified sun-protective clothing. Plan sun protection separately for an outdoor event.
Venue. Ask your ceremony venue what coverage is required; sheer lace may not meet its dress code. For detachable sleeves, confirm that the option works with your chosen gown.

Why Sleeve Weight Decides the Fit
Sleeve weight and construction can affect how the gown feels at the shoulder. During a fitting, check the neckline and armhole while sitting, reaching and raising your arms.
If a sleeve pulls at the shoulder or restricts movement, ask the maker or alteration specialist to assess the fit. The appropriate adjustment depends on the gown’s construction.

How the seam is finished
