The usual assumption about ordering a wedding dress online is that you pick a design, pick a size, and that is the transaction.
Here it works differently. Shany cuts almost every gown to your measurements, and most elements of the design are open — adjusted, swapped, or removed entirely. You can put the bodice of one gown on the skirt of another.
These are the eight changes brides ask for most.
1. Back coverage
The depth of the opening is adjustable in either direction. Cut it deeper if you want more back, raise it if you want less. A closed back with buttons works on most silhouettes. See the range in open back gowns.
2. Neckline
V-neck, sweetheart, square, high neck, off-shoulder — all adjustable. A gown photographed with a V can be raised or deepened. This one matters most for brides with modesty requirements, or with a clear picture of how the neckline should sit in photographs.
3. Sleeves
The most requested change of the eight. A sleeveless gown can be given long lace sleeves, flutter sleeves or off-shoulder detailing, and a long-sleeve gown can lose them entirely. 4. Lining colour
Gowns are lined in soft breathable fabric, ivory or nude as standard. Nude reads as a skin-tone effect under sheer lace; ivory is opaque and more covered. It changes how the gown photographs more than most brides expect, and it reads differently on different skin tones — worth asking about rather than guessing.
5. Slit
A slit can go into almost any gown, from a modest ankle opening to thigh-high. Brides choose it for movement, for drama, or simply because a July wedding is hot. See the high slit gowns.
6. Hem length
Gowns are cut to your hollow-to-hem measurement, taken in the shoes you will actually wear. Heels, flats or barefoot — tell us which and the hem lands where it should. Getting this wrong is the most common cause of a dragging hem.
7. Train
A train can be added to most silhouettes, from a short sweep to a longer court train. We work out the right length with you when you order, taking the venue into account.
8. Straps
Thin spaghetti straps can be widened. Off-shoulder styles can be given straps. Strapless designs can have straps added for security, which more brides want than admit it. Every strap is cut from the gown's own lace.

How do shipping and customs work?
DHL or UPS Express, worldwide. Duties and taxes are prepaid where they are shown at checkout, so the total on screen is the total you pay. A few destinations still apply local charges — ask and we will confirm yours.
How do you make sure a customised gown fits?
It is cut from your measurements rather than a size chart. Shany reads every set herself before production and writes to you if a number looks off against the others.
Can I really combine two different gowns?
Yes. Bodice from one, skirt from another, plus any of the eight changes above. Ask before you order so we can confirm the combination works.
How long does it take?
Five to six weeks to sew, then three to seven business days by express courier.
