You have paid for a dress you have never touched, from a studio you have never visited, and there is nothing to do but wait. Every bride who orders online goes through it. So it is worth knowing what is actually happening at the other end during that week, and what the process is built to catch.
Why anyone orders a dress sight unseen
Because the alternative is stranger than it sounds. In a boutique you try on a size 6 sample held together with clips, picture it in your size, then pay several hundred dollars more for a stranger to cut it down to you. The dress you fell for and the dress you take home are not the same object.
Ordering online inverts that. You send five numbers — bust, waist, hip, height, hollow-to-hem — and the pattern is drafted from them. The first time that gown exists in the world, it exists in your size.
What happens after you click order
Within a day, you get an illustrated measurement guide. Five measurements, a soft tape, and ideally someone else holding the other end. Self-measuring is where most errors come from.
Then Shany reads them. Not a system and not a checklist. She has been drafting patterns since 2011, and she can see when a waist number does not sit right against a bust number. When that happens she writes to you before anything is cut. That single step is what makes the whole model work.

What the fear is actually about
It is rarely the fabric. Brides worry about the fit, and specifically about the moment the box opens.
So here is the honest version. A gown cut to your measurements starts far closer to your body than any sample does, and most of the $300-to-$800 alterations bill attached to a boutique dress simply never appears. But it is not a fitting room. Bodies change between ordering and the wedding, hems interact with shoes, and a small local adjustment is sometimes still the right call. Anyone promising a dress that will never need touching is selling you something.

DHL or UPS Express, worldwide. Duties and taxes are prepaid where they are shown at checkout, so the number you pay is the number you saw. Some destinations still apply local charges — ask and we will confirm yours before you order.
What if I measure wrong?
That is what the review step is for. Shany checks every set against itself before cutting and writes to you if something looks off. If you would rather not risk it, have a local tailor take them. Plenty of brides do.
Can I change the design?

How long does it take?
